"They Did What?"

Employee Steals $98,000 of Product in plain sight.

Errick Dickerson, AG-000576, an employee hired as a janitor with Seven Points Agro Therapeutics, was caught on camera stealing approximately 7030 grams (15.6 pounds of cannabis). He was originally hired in February 2023 and, within six months, was terminated for stealing.

TIMELINE OF EVENTS

February 12, 2023

Hired as a janitor with Seven Points Agro Therapeutics.

August 12, 2023

Mr. Dickerson is seen opening a bin of cannabis flower in the cure room and placing it in a trash bag.

August 19, 2023

6:47 am, Mr. Dickerson is seen opening a bin of cannabis flower in the cure room and placing it in a trash bag.

6:51 am, Mr. Dickerson is seen attempting to leave the cure room with a bag of cannabis flower but quickly throws it on the ground after looking outside of the curre room door and then exits the room with a white trash bin.

7:10 am, Mr. Dickerson is seen on video opening a bin of cannabis flower in the cure room and placing it in a trash bag.

7:39 am, Mr. Dickerson is seen again in the cure room filling a large trash bag with cannabis flower

August 20, 2023

11:52 am Mr. Dickerson is seen exiting the cure room with a bag of cannabis flower as well as a bin of cannabis flower and is confronted by the Cultivation Supervisor, who opened the door to the cure room for Mr. Dickerson, to return the items. The Cultivation supervisor told Mr. Dickerson to leave which he did.

12:00 pm The Cultivation supervisor went to another area to contact his supervisor. Mr. Dickerson is then re-entering the cure room, rather than leave as instructed, and departing with a bag of cannabis flower; and exits the facility.

12:30 pm Mr. Dickerson is seen placing the bag on a Gator Ulity Vehicle and driving away from the faclity.

Later that day St. Mary’s County Sheriff Office arrested Mr. Dickerson.

Due to his action, he was issued an Order of Permanent Revocation of Cannabis Agent Registration, Case 23-00311.

He is no longer able to work in the Cannabis Industry in the Maryland Market.

Lessons From This Event

  1. The supervisor asked him to leave, he should have been escorted off of the facility and then report the findings.
  2. Trash in any business is a reality. When operating a cannabis business, clear bags should be used to show what is inside the trash bags. You can purchase them online, here is one example from ULINE, INDUSTRIAL TRASH LINERS.
